Fergie is a strong, good looking youngster sired by Riley with an excellent pedigree. Fergie's early training showed he was a very promising dog with an eager will to learn and please.
Fergie had his introduction to field trials in October 2018 with great success. In his first competitive event he WON the Northumberland and Durham L R C Novice Trial at Ford and Etal Estate in October. I was exceptionally pleased with his performance as we were also awarded Best Handler of the trial. This meant that he would be in Open trials in the 2019 season.
I was really happy with Fergie being awarded a C.O.M. at Tyne Tees and Tweed FTA Two Day Open trial at Whitfield Estate in October 2019. Testing ground and retrieves, Fergie thoroughly deserved his award after only a couple of runs this season.
Fergie then followed this with a WIN in the Highland Gundog Club Two Day Open Trial - making him an OPEN FIELD TRIAL WINNER - and qualifying him for the 2019 I.G.L.
He then competed in the Cheshire North Wales and Shropshire Retriever and Spaniel Society's Two day trial and was awarded 3rd Place and then promptly followed this with a run in the Three Ridings Two day stake early November and WON THE TRIAL, and was also awarded Guns Choice.
This not only double qualified Fergie for the 2019 IGL but also MAKES HIM A FIELD TRIAL CHAMPION.
He then ran against 63 top class dogs at the IGL in Glenalmond, Perthshire and came away with a Diploma Of Merit.
I'm very happy of his performances and the potential he is showing at just 3 years old.
